Dosage Guidelines
Dosage is typically calculated using the patient’s body weight for the cyproheptadine component, with specific maximum daily doses.
- Pediatric Patients (Age 2 to 6 years): The total daily dosage is approximately 0.25 mg/kg/day, with a usual starting dose of 2 mg two or three times a day. The dose should not exceed 12 mg a day.
- Pediatric Patients (Age 7 to 14 years): The usual dose is 4 mg two or three times a day, and the dose should not exceed 16 mg a day.
- Adults: The total daily dose should not exceed 0.5 mg/kg/day. The suggested starting dose is 4 mg three times a day, with a typical therapeutic range of 4 to 20 mg a day.
